QRP IN HAWAII Visiting QRPER's Guide To Portable Operation

GENERAL INFORMATION

Visiting The Parks

In the Hawaiian Islands, each of the islands have several Beach Parks. They vary greatly size and facilities. Some have paved parking lots, lighting, rest rooms and telephones. Along the Shoreline you will find several beach parks and inland many other parks for you to enjoy. The State, City and County brochures and maps are a great asset in your planning for your /KH6 QRP DXpedition.

Each Island Government has different regulations for use of their City and County Parks. The State park regulations vary somewhat too. For DAY USE observance of posted signs and the same behavior you would want visitors to where you live will get you by. For OVERNIGHT or CAMPING permits are required and different rules apply.

There are often handy trees, fences and poles to connect your antenna supports to. Please remove and throw away anything you connected. The use of brightly colored surveyor's tape tied on a guy wire, or low to the ground antenna wire will help others see your wire. There are no antenna police, but if asked by anyone about your antenna, tell them it is temporary and that it is adding to your enjoyment of Paradise...
